Togetherness with Rachel Cunliffe

Modern life has this weird ache of simultaneously feeling more connected and isolated. This podcast is about showing up to create spaces both online and offline where people feel less alone, instead of just longing for it.

I Can’t Imagine What You’re Going Through

When something awful happens to a friend, it’s easy to freeze up and stay silent because you don’t know what to say, or you’re terrified of saying the wrong thing. No one hands you a guide for navigating terrible things in life.

When our five-year-old son was diagnosed with leukemia, it felt like a great dividing line was drawn in our lives. Living through those really awful years taught me a lot about the anatomy of relationships through a crisis.

Currently in development, I Can’t Imagine What You’re Going Through is the handbook I wish everyone had: what to say and avoid, and ways to help, so you can learn how to show up, love well, and become the best kind of humans when things get hard.

Hi, I’m Rachel Cunliffe

I run cre8d design, a design studio specializing in clean, calm, and custom WordPress websites for food bloggers and small businesses. I’m also the co-director of CensusAtSchool NZ, and an honorary academic at The University of Auckland.

I live with my husband and four children in rural New Zealand. Almost every Friday night for the past 23 years, we’ve opened our home to family, friends, and strangers for homemade pizza, because eating together is better. (I write about this over at Friday’s Pizza.)

Outside of work, I love hiking, reading, cooking, traveling (a piece of my heart is in Hawaii), organizing, planning, and writing.

I’d love to say hi, friend
